About

“I created these works to understand the essence of pure creativity that comes from heartfelt truth, to let go of the noise, the judgements, and the pollution of our societal pulls.”
Sharon Stone has been painting her entire life - from watching her Aunt Vonne's work, as her aunt was also a painter, to Stone creating murals across the walls of her childhood home, to her then studying painting in college. With her advances in acting skyrocketed in her early twenties, painting took a back seat throughout the early portion of Stone's adult life.
It wasn’t until the COVID-19 lockdown that Stone rediscovered her passion for painting. A friend gave her a paint-by-numbers kit, she upgraded to real canvases and acrylics, and began painting daily in her pool house which was later converted into a home studio space.
“Color becomes a wavelength for me,” says Stone. “Being a colorist moves the directions of my paintings. Color speaks to me."
Her work is largely abstract and expressionistic, often drawing on nature, movement, and emotional transformation—motifs like snakes, coiled forms, and layered landscapes appear, reflecting profound themes of shedding, loss, and rebirth.
In March 2023, she held her first solo exhibition, Shedding, at Allouche Gallery in Los Angeles, featuring large-scale acrylics that explore her inner life.
By October 2023, she followed that with a second show, Welcome to My Garden, at C. Parker Gallery in Connecticut, showcasing 19 colorful, abstract works inspired by her travels, spirituality, and personal struggles—including her recovery from her stroke.
Stone says painting offers her a sense of freedom and healing that complements her acting, but also stands on its own: she now spends up to 17 hours a day in her studio, and her art has drawn praise for its raw emotion and technical ambition.
Sharon Stone’s immense talents and acute powers of observation have translated through her paintings. The ability to observe and interpret human behavior, and the capacity to turn human frailties into sources of strength, shine through in ways that are combative, conquering, and victorious. The connection to nature is always visually present.

Stone is internationally recognized as a global cultural leader, her many honors include: the Women Making History Award from the National Women’s History Museum; the Einstein Spirit of Achievement Award; the Nobel Peace Summit Award Laureate; the Golden Globe Award; a Primetime Emmy Award; an Academy Award Nomination; she was named a Commander of the Order of Arts and Letters in France; the 2023 Courage Award; the Harvard Humanitarian Award; and the Human Rights Campaign Humanitarian Award, among her many accolades.

Sharon Stone has exhibited internationally in premier solo exhibitions in Los Angeles, Greenwich, Berlin and San Francisco. Her artworks have been acquired into esteemed private collections across the globe.
